Sivakarthikeyan Doss (born 17 February 1985), mononymously known as Sivakarthikeyan, is an Indian film actor, television presenter and stand-up comedian, currently working in the Tamil film industry. He began his media career when he joined as a participant on STAR Vijays Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, a comedy reality show, following which he was appointed as a regular presenter at the same television station upon witnessing his sense of humor, which consists of quick-witted satirical one-liners and often poking fun of his co-hosts and fellow contestants in shows. He has hosted a number of shows on STAR Vijay, including the third and fifth seasons of Jodi Number One, Adhu Idhu Edhu, Boys vs. Girls and Airtel Super Singer Junior while also conducting special film-promotional interviews. He made his debut as a film actor in Marina (2012).
Sivakarthikeyans father G. Doss was a Police Officer (Jail Superintendent). His grandfather is a Padmashree award winner for Nadaswaram. His native place is Thiruveezhimizhalai near Thiruvarur. He has done his schooling in Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Tiruchirappalli. He has completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering at J. J. College of Engineering and Technology, Tiruchirappalli and MBA from Indian Institute of Planning and Management, Chennai. His sister is a well known doctor in Tiruchirappalli and he lives along with his mother and wife Aarthi, who he got engaged on May 16, 2010, and married on August 27, 2010. His favorite car is Jaguar.
Sivakarthikeyan won the Kalakka Povathu Yaaru competition and participated successfully in three dance-reality shows. He paired up, with Aishwarya in Vijay Jodi No 1 Season 3 and went to the finals. He also took part of Boys Vs Girls Season 1 (winning the Best Entertainer Award) and Season 2 (with his team winning the Competition). He then got opportunities to host several shows including Airtel Super Singer 3, Jodi Season 5, Jodi Number 1 Junior and the most prestigious 5th and 6th Annual Vijay Awards.During these days he also acted in a few Tamil Short Films like Mugapputhagam, Identity, Kurahl 789 ( with actress Abinaya) and 360° (pairing with his close friend Priya).Finally Sivakarthikeyan made his Tamil feature film debut with Marina (2012). He bagged his first solo lead roles for Manam Kothi Paravai (2012) and Ethir Neechal (2013), produced by Dhanush, with whom Sivakarthikeyan has acted previously in the romantic drama film 3.

The film has reportedly broken records held by Sivakarthikeyan’s earlier films such as Remo and Velaikkaran on its first day of release and has collected Rs 13.5 crore.
The film’s producer, RD Raja, confirmed the double-digit day 1 collections on Twitter. He wrote, “It’s official: just received #SeemaRaja collection Reports. Our #SeemaRaja creates new record at box office Day 1 collection. @Siva_Kartikeyan ‘s career best & Double digit Mark! It’s Huge!!Proud team.”
According to trade analysts, the film collected Rs 1.01 crore in Chennai alone and made Rs 13.5 crore in 550 screens. It must be noted that the film’s early morning shows domestic centres as well as US locations were cancelled due to technical reasons.
